Welcoming Athanasía “Tessa” Aarniosuo as a new member of the team!

We are very pleased to introduce Athanasía Aarniosuo as a new member of the team at Perpetuum Mobile and Artists at Risk!

From October 8th 2018 Athanasía has taken up the position of Project Coordinator & Communications. Her tasks include communications, grant applications, planning and organising events and residencies, and assisting artists in residency with Perpetuum Mobile (PM), and especially also Artists at Risk (AR). Athanasía is joining the Artists at Risk (AR) Secretariat and is also co-ordinating the Immigré Artists (IR) and Artists at Risk (AR) Nordic Network.

Tessa, as she is known for short, brings with her years of experience in the art field and a true passion for contemporary art. She has worked in many art and culture organisations such as HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme,  art gallery Forum Box and Frame Contemporary Art Finland. She also conducts interviews for the publication of HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme and other media. Aarniosuo holds a Master’s degree in art history from the University of Helsinki and a BA(Hons) in fine art printmaking from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Tessa is fast making herself at home at Perpetuum Mobile (PM)/ Artists at Risk (AR). As she tells us, “I am very excited to be using my expertise for such a worthy cause and cannot wait to meet everyone.”

The Artists at Risk (AR) Secretariat is generously funded by the Kone Foundation. The Immigré Artists (IR) and Artists at Risk (AR) Nordic Network funded by the Nordic Culture Point. AR Safe Haven Helsinki is funded by City of Helsinki Culture and Leisure Division.
